Reviews

Overall I am satisfied with this GRINDER until the on / off switch broke after less than 2 years. The mill was beautiful, relatively quiet, and did a great job of grinding. I contacted Breville Customer Service and to their credit they have actually returned my call. However they have informed me of the guarantee is valid for one year. Therefore I was referred to a repair center. It is not worth its transport to the repair center and pay for freight back and forth over the repair costs. No more than the repair station not far from my home to make driving an option. GH paid $ 69.00 for the last mill Burr the Grinder I bought this unit and lasted 7 years. I paid $ 100.00 for it, and don 't even get 2 years out of him. GH only used this machine on average once a week. He was kept in a closet and not be subject to abuse. Will I spend another hundred dollars on any new Breville product? Surely not.

BCG450XL recently bought the Breville Conical Burr Grinder. A wonderful machine! The routine is still (I 've used the medium and fine so far) and labeling is accurate grinding fineness. There 's almost zero "powder. " It ' s quiet, sturdy and handsome. Fairly easy to clean. Almost no reason to leave the vessel, leaving a clean counter. Some other critics negatively commment on the timer but Don 't see it as a problem. I grind my week 's coffee at a time and need to run the grinder twice. BFD. If you grind coffee every day, no problem. Frankly, Don 't have a negative word to say about this and many positive things.

My impressions of the mill is pretty much in line with many of the reviews here, so I 'm not going to waste time typing the good things that have been said about the machine. R ri have Thermofresh Bunn, that dumps water on coffee baskets, ants Brewer year as soon as you see. I want to get get a pot of coffee in less than 2 minutes, but it is not without problems, until I bought the machine. I am using a blade grinder for years, and they work OK if you have a really slow manufacturer of coffee. THE PROBLEM WHEN YOU HAVE A Aryans like the Bunn coffee maker Thermofresh, and try to use a blade grinder. With a blade grinder, by the time the beans are thoroughly ground, a lot of beans are ground to a fine dust. The fine dust will clog the filter, and Bunn Thermofresh dumping water in the basket so quickly, it is often overflow the basket, which makes a mess, and you ll 'of fine dust also make it to coffee brewed Coffee . R rThis is not a problem at the mill when grinding beans. The grind is not consistent with the ground coffee to a fine powder like the blade grinders. My set a few clicks Bréville finer than "settings Fine ', and works great. All the yard is not contained in the filter with overflow .... and I set the grinder to In 25 seconds, which grind enough coffee for a fairly strong pot of coffee. r ri am definitely recommend this product, especially those who still use a blade grinder. You won 't regret buying it. R rThe only abdominal pain, and the only reason I didn ' t give a 5 star rating, when I remove the container of ground coffee, ground coffee some more Fall Out of the grinding mechanism, and have some cleaning to do after each use. Suppose if I tapped the engine a bit before removing the container, some of the coffee will fall in the container ..... I 'm just not that like doing it for years and years, and cause excessive wear and tear on machines. It ' sa little problem that I can live with. The great pot of coffee you get this mill, far outweighs a little problem like this.

I GRINDER compared with $ 500 Professional, Breville is worth doing at a fraction of the price. I have 2 right now (1 at home, office and 1) and both have a good performance, easy to maintain, and produce reliable espresso grind. We take about 25 shots a day, plus 2 or 3 grinding 10-cup drip coffee servings, and this GRINDER save up to use.

I don 't know what a bad customer service or product quality. You can decide, in my experience, it read: rI bought an approximately 6 months. Things are going well for the first 1 months or so, then suddenly stop, you are working. The power switch doesn 't matter how you push it, not simply to respond. OK, I'm beginning to call for service. After about a week of the e-mail exchange + call, said the service center, they will ship me a new book. Then I got the new (doesn 't really that new, but ...). Well, the 2nd one, does it take to respond, the power button, but it produces the powder is so rude! It 's definitely not for espresso, even I, in turn, to the best selection, the powder is still very rough. Ah, so I called them again. This time, it 's much simpliest, said the service representative they will ship me the role that should solve my problem. And I got the role. This part looks terrible, it 's not in any package (in plastic bag or something similar), and it ' s very dirty. I doubt that anyone dare to use that one on their coffee! R RI don 't know what I should do with this machine. I bought a $ 20 a temperary for my use and amazingly enough, it works much more reliable than this! R rmy proposal to whoever wants to buy a freezer mill: either pay $ more to a solid one, or simply choose a simple chaper version. Don 't buy this one.

This thing got through almost a pound of beans before it died. Apparently, Breville finds it more profitable to advertise quality than to implement it. No more Breville products in this house!

I have this product for Christmas last year and only used it for the last 6 months or so. The timer didn 't work the first times I used it and recently, the on / off switch broke and I have yet to find a place where I can buy a replacement part. Breville I emailed and got no response from them. Very disappointed in this product. A permanent loss of $ 100.

I 've had the product over a year, and it works great. However, static electricity creates a big mess, as the shoot grinds all over the kitchen. I don 't know whether other brands might somehow handle this better. In the Mid-Atlantic region, you will certainly experience this problem, at least in winter time, and it 's not fun.

I 've had this grinder a little over two years, and it ' s just about dead. R rFirst , the ground coffee funnel is constructed of relatively inexpensive plastic, mine has been broken for about a year now, but I can make it work, to cover just doesn 't hang together. R night rLast, the coup de gras, the switch literally fell off the side of the machine. The whole switch is supposed to fit in to the machine than I can say after taking it apart, but in my case, a very small piece of plastic, where the set appears to have broken, and not abuse, MIND You, and thereby change doesn 't stay in place. R ri can make it work, for now, but is out of warranty, and seems to be out of luck. When you spend more than $ 100 for a coffee grinders quality, as most expect. I'll think twice before buying any product Bréville in the future.

I received this as a gift a little over a year ago, on the switch broke, she literally fell on the machine. RI called the workshop listed on the site of Breville and he says that no longer services, because the price of parts has skyrocketed. Rit is not going to landfill. RVery disappointing because I liked the machine while it worked.

It worked great. I used it for making espresso grind coffee and French press. After the power switch fell off and now it 's useless. Not worth the money. [...]

I 've had this grinder for a few months now. C 'is the best that I ' ve owned the hands-down and there 's what I like about it: r cr ' is very quiet compared to any other Burr grinder with me, I ' saw cr 'is not messy at all r-it seems very well built. All parts lock together in a solid, it just feels very strong r grinds it about as well as a grinder can grind at home and makes great French press or drip coffee (if you use good beans cool!) R rBecause I don 't owned terribly long as I don ' t comment on what 's it takes to thoroughly clean it. R rdon 't be fooled into thinking that this could be used for high quality espresso. For that you 'll need a true espresso grinder is likely that 3.6 times more expensive (eg, Mazzer, Rancilio, etc..)

I ordered this grinder based largely on previous reviews I read here. I was delighted the first 10 days - it worked very well, perfectly ground, and not to leave static charged coffee grounds all over my counter. Unfortunately, after 10 days, it stopped working completely, when I pressed the Start button, I have nothing, no grinding, no Sputtering, not even a vague regret. R r and he returned to the Amazon, they sent me a new one, and so far, so good, but Hasna 't been 10 days yet, so my fingers are still crossed. This, oddly, despite identical to the first, do not actually spit coffee grounds all over my counter, so I 'ma little disappointed with that, but as she continues to grind the beans, I ll ' live with it . R rOverall, it 'sa fine grinders, provided you continue to work. Don 't know if I ' d recommend it over anything else, though - It 's adequate, but nothing to rave about.

We were victims of the recent recall of Starbucks coffee - we sent back 5yo mill to them (for the replacement of approximately $ 30 mill), and were sent back a piece of scrap $ 15 grinder, that was unsatisfactory, and we decided to replace them. We bought and returned five different sub-$ 50 mill. They were either too loud, wouldn 't grind well enough, had terrible reviews, too inconvenient or too confusing. After so much frustration, we finally decided to improve the range of $ 100 and bought Breville. It's great - it ISN 't too loud and it's the least messy of all those we tried.

After reading reviews of this grinder on Amazon and another website, I was Convinced that this grinder would do what I needed to do it at a low price, but I was also Convinced that I may need to do a modification to make it grind finer. Many reviewers claim that they modified it, or that it didn 't grind fine enough. So I got it home, opened her up and went through all steps of the beginning of set up, cleaning, etc.. I was surprised to find that on the finest setting the grind was too fine for me to use in my espresso machine. I had some ground beans at a local roaster to an espresso grind and compared. I know espresso is supposed to, for most machines, feel like sugar - somewhat gritty. If it 's too powdery it wont work right. r rWhat I 've found is that 3 clicks from the bottom setting, Which is still technically in the "turkish " range according to the grinder settings, is perfect for my current machine and looked identical to the ground espresso I compared it to. This makes me feel good as, when I get a new machine, I hope that the extra 2 steps I have to go will give me enough flexibility to get the right grind. r rI 've had it for about a week now and as of yet don ' t have a static problem. It 's realitively easy to clean with a soft brush to brush out the grind chamber and bean container. I 'm still working on the timer, and think I have it about right for pulling a double shot. r RAS for drip coffee, we use it for that as well and of course it works great. r rWill this last as long as some of the higher end machines? Oh, perhaps not. But, for $ 89 when I Also had an Amazon gift card to pay for part of it, I just couldn 't pass it up. I was between this and a Capresso model, and I 'm happy with my choice. r rObviously, if you have an expensive, finicky espresso machine, you probably wouldn 't even be looking at a grinder in this range. For my $ 200 - $ 300 espresso machine, I have no complaints.

My wife and I bought this mill to go to the manufacturers of espresso by Breville we have. Breville 's products are well made but not break the bank we really enjoyed the mill. When you figure what you want to grind is not quite it every time. It is also quiet.

I have owned this mill for over a year and I still love it. I use it every morning, and is a bit noisy (Nature of the Beast) and the coffee is ground in the container is a strange (and on the small side for more than 4 cups of coffee worth), but I think these minor quibbles. It's so easy to use and reliable that I would buy it again.

I recently purchased the good after all the reviews on this page. I like everything in, with two exceptions: 1, the grinder does not grind fine enough for espresso, and on the "super-fine " Turkish attitude. 2, shaking the bean container during operation, seems like it's a little poor has failed. R r Rother than that, this is a good mill for a pot or press for a drip machine. The reason why I did it only two stars because I like would be a fine grind for espresso to have.

After much research I chose the Breville Burr Coffee Grinder, and after three years of use, it grinds perfectly still. The main feature I like about this coffee grinder is that the beans did not field a static charge that makes them jump and make a mess everywhere. The clear plastic compartment is very easy to remove and replace back into the machine. The grind is over and works great in my coffee Aeropress. This is a quality machine well made and highly recommended.

Great grinder. The bin for the collection of the reasons is easy to use and has remained fairly orderly. Device rthe looks very nice on the work surface. One disadvantage of this product gives ra nice amount of heat while connected, even when not in use. I guess that means it sucks the juice rfrom the wall like a savage. I unplug after use. The actual element of correction is simple and easy RTO clean. I would buy again.

very pleased with my new coffee bean grinder, the Breville is an outstanding bean grinder! consistantly turns out great tasting ground coffee! rLow noise, hardly any mess, and easy to operate, just set it and forget it, the bean hopper holds 5 oz, enough for 5 days. r After grinding several batches of coffee, i found that the fine grind setting, at 10 seconds is perfect for brewing 4 cups of coffee in my drip coffee maker Zojirushi, if i want more, or other 's want coffee, then i turn up the timer dial (ie) 10 seconds for 4 cups of coffee brewd, 20 seconds for 8 cups, and 30 seconds for 12 cups. After the timer is set, all you have to do is push the start button, no need to re-set the timer each time you grind coffee. One importand tip, the manual said to tap the side of the machine after grinding stops, this will disslodge any remaining grounds from inside the shoot, allowing it to drop down, and bellow into the container, .. reducing the chance of having coffee grounds spill out on your counter, after you pull out the container from the machine, also important, when your pouring the grinds out of the container, and coffee maker into you, do not open the lid all the way, open just about an inch, and turn it so that the words "MAX " are facing down and into the filter basket, it looks to me like this is a pour spout, i found that there is very little, if any, coffee spilled on the counter.

This is the third product we Breville IKON we bought, and like the others (blender and electric kettle) is good overall. We use it both for daily grinding for a drip coffee maker and occasional grinding for a French press, both have the same results. R rPros: r rsoler construction. Breville products in general is built solidly, and one is no exception. Although some reviewers have commented on the apparent weakness of plastic Hopper, it's more than enough for his job of guiding the coffee beans in the grinder. R rBreville customer service. The previous version of this mill had a separate on / off switch in addition to the start button. After about a year of use, move broke. I contacted Breville USA by e-mail, and in two days I had confirmation of shipment of a replacement with a pre-paid FedEx label to return mine. The new model (w / or / off switch) arrived a week later. R rNoise. It is significantly quieter than our previous blade grinders, but I do not know how it compared to other burr grinders. R rCons: r rAbout every two months or so (daily use) I delete yard with obstructed the passage between the mill and the container yard.

I've had my mill for a year and a half, and still works fine! I love it. It is compact, and looks good. Y 'sa lot quieter than my old blade grinder. But best of all, does a great job. I like the consistency of the grounds. It's worth the money. In fact, I think for about $ 100, 'sa terrible purchase. I'm very happy with my choice.

After making a large piece of research for a GRINDER good, I was very excited about this machine. After a month of daily use, it is true, I really liked. R dealer but doesn 't grind fine enough on the best configuration. R rand, which is the bottom line. R ri bought this espresso grind. Nothing more. Regardless of how much I like the overall design and functionality, not just your machine to the right for a budding enthusiast espresso. R rAll said, the funnel of beans is good, the adjustment mechanism (turn the bean hopper clockwise to lock it and adjust from coarse to fine) works quite well, the timer is a nice touch, and even slightly too feeble grind bin doesn 't bother me. I never had much of a mess to clean up after you run the machine, coffee found its way into the trash, and a light shake of the machine would displace enough of the Chute grinds waste to prevent them from filling up my accountant said removing bin. Clean the machine wasn 't too difficult, but there was always a bit of coffee left in the old mechanism that no amount of shaking, brushing or blow would get it perfectly clean. R Rbut at the end, the resulting coffee was a little weak, because the best grind setting just isn 't quite thin. R the mouse I found a good home for it with a friend who wears a press pot to make coffee - not espresso. And I 'm waiting for delivery later today of the machine that I should have bought in the first place: a Lelit PL53. R Rif you want to start pulling good espresso, spend the money on the grinder. Just do it and don 't look back!

When I married, I received a Braun coffee grinder as a gift. It lasted 20 years. When he finally died, I bought this grinder Bréville after doing lots of research. It was a great grinder ... while it lasted. It 's less than two years, but the off-on switch fell off, and will stop when grinding WANT IT, NOT WHEN YOU WANT IT TO. This finally just stopped working. R rThey don 't make them like they used to.
