Reviews

I bought 2 Breville kettles. The first stop working after a month. Exchanged it and the second stop working after 14 months. They obviously don 't-test their products, use inferior materials, or both. The things they do is trash. Go to a more reputable brand.

Heating sheet can takes 7 minutes - a little more than advertised, but still very efficient energy and time. Very attractive. Love the wireless design.

After examining various types of electric kettles I decided on the Breville. I am so glad I did. I love it! E 'heavier than some, as stated in other reviews, but just enough to let you know that you have a product really well done. I filled it with cold water chilled filtered water and boiled very fast! Love the blue light (glow) across the line during compilation. Great pourer pointed out that no leaking. I highly recommend this kettle!

I LOVE my electric kettle. It is actually a replacement for the same model - my husband put me first electric stove ?????? RLooks wonderful in my kitchen - and boil the water - fast. PERFECT

A friend of mine has been master of your water heater electric Bréville 3 years and is still strong. The lid still works as designed (swing gradual opening after pressing the button), the light is still functional, and that water boils at the same time as when he was nine. When I read the comments of some people who have problems, I was reluctant. But after seeing the boiler in action, I decided to buy it. R rRarely found a manufacturer that makes a device without any design or quality. Kettle capresse makes an excellent, almost perfect except for one fatal defect: plastic. There is a plastic gasket around the base of the heating element to isolate themselves from the glass. This material has a very strong smell to it. Check out a capresse on display in a store. Lift the lid and take a breath - You 'll be surprised at the intensity of the odor. After taking a two-year, the smell may have been dissipated, but is still there. In the end I decided that I 'd had enough and sought a replacement boiler. This led me to Bréville. R rther were 2 major considerations for me with this product: 1) Warm up time (which must be reasonable) and 2) a minimum exposure of plastic for water. And timely operation of the water heater and is slightly longer than the capresse not enough to be significant. The Bréville is primarily stainless steel. The only plastic that comes into contact with water are two very small joints that allow for the water manometer. There is a plastic disk on top, but not in contact with water. There are initially obtain a slight odor, which is a byproduct of production, but that fades quickly. R r * The water heater is very solid and well done. It's heavier than most of the kettle, but it should 't be a problem for the average person (if they are frail or have a weak wrist, you might consider another issue). R r * The lid has a disk becomes plastic coated condensation during use (so you can 't really see the boiler). This is not 't intended to check the water level - has a width at the front of it. It 's actually give to know the progress of heating, the increase of water as condensation approaches boiling. R r * The handle is big and solid, with a slip-resistant rubber, coating, so that 's easy to use. R r * The gun is well designed and pour evenly without drip during normal use. R r * There's a filter near the metal barrel that helps trap any particles that may have entered the boiler. It is easy to remove and clean. R r * Water level gauge lights when in use and is somewhat difficult to read. The handle is directly in the line of vision poses a slight problem, but not enough to keep you see the level. R r * There is a sensor that turns off the boiler when the water begins to boil. It is a bit slow to begin when the water level is low, but at least it works. I want to convert the boiler when it detects that there is no water inside. R r * The switch has an internal sound of the bell however, when the boiler is switched off, is not very strong but not doing enough to know it for a sound that is ready if the water 're not too far away. R r * The plug is 3 points, which is unusual - most of these boilers have a 2 plug points. But Bréville did this for security, since it is based unit. The cap also has an ingenious design that makes it easy to remove with a finger. No. r r * The water heater has no special insulation, and it's very hot outside. It takes time to cool, as it is made of metal (my capresse glass cools more quickly). If you have curious children at home, keep the water heater edges of venda free or at least put cold water in the pot after using it to cool r r rGenerally I to say that I 'm happy with this water heater and it seems a reasonable price. I had the opportunity to buy mines BB & B for a little less here using a 20% discount coupon. The reason was that the route should have an easy way back if I encountered a problem and decided I did 't like, so I ' d not have to deal with the hassle of packing and sending back to Amazon. Peace, which is very good price here and that "I have heard of the Amazon customer service is very good .....

Boil the water and up to 15 times a day ... and I bought it because it is sleek and stainless steel. Boil rapidly and I like the bell ding in the morning ... my mind ... Here Comes knows coffee! Ri'll buy another today, because after almost four years of continuous use, my current Breville WILL BE LEFT. It always works, but there are certain things that no longer work. RWithin year flexible open the lid stopped working smoothly. Just open the POP now. Not a problem, but I regret to leave so early in The Game. RSecondly, the light that illuminates to indicate if the pot is the work stoppage in the second year. The light is great so you can see the amount of water in the pot very easily. RNOW in its fourth year I have to boil a pot of water or it won 't come on. I think the sensor must be corroded. ROverall this tea is the best I've ever used ... and I will continue to use electric kettles. The wireless functionality is fantastic. When c 'is full of water is very heavy, so be careful if you have issues to raise with one hand.

This is quality product that looks good and does the job. Although slower to reach the boiling point than kettles with exposed heating elements, it avoids the calcification / rusting caused by the latter. Also, it has an easy to open attached lid for filling or emptying, heft when you lift it and it pours well. This must be our fouth electric kettle and I think it will be the most long-lasting.

I bought one last Christmas for my wife, a teacher, to have to be used in the classroom. Has been stronger in the 10 months since then. At home, we have a good Chantal stovetop kettle where we are repeatedly til destroyed by boiling dry. So, we have one of these homes, too. R rthe design is the best that I 've found between the electric kettle: stainless steel inside and out, the elements are separated from clean water compartment so easy, even when the primary cool fresh water boiled. That means I can set the pot on the table, while I wait for the manual type cone coffee filter to drain into a cup of coffee. Very useful! Small bell is easily heard from across the houses, but not annoying. Even well-designed plug, with a loop that makes it easy to pull the plug from the socket on the rare occasion that you want to move the base unit. R rall in all, this kettle so well thought out it may have been designed by Apple. I 'll be going to see the Breville ' s other products in the upcoming holiday season.

I 've been with electric kettles for more than 20 years. I use my kettle all day, probably warming 20 + times in a day, adding hot water for my cup of tea Tervis life. Have used 4 brands, models and 6 - Rival, Cusinart, Chief 's Choice, but mainly brown. They usually last about three years under these conditions. RI Kettle metal electrical researched because of recent concerns about the health of plastic, and the failure of our brown 3 years old. I was ready to buy Breville (love the new coffee grinder that recently bought from them), but acquired the Chef 's Choice 678 only because he claimed that the technology eliminates the buildup of mineral deposits. It did not. Rthe Chief 's Choice electric kettle 678 is the worst I ' ve ever used. Leaked all the high high high and had several other issues. I wrote a review of our experience, if you want to take a look. RNeedless say, within 10 days, I returned the boss 's Choice and bought the Breville SK500XL. Rit 's absolutely wonderful, and so quiet! I was right beside him while he was warming, talking on my cell phone using a bluetooth headset and doesn 't even realize it was about until I heard the little bell ending the heating cycle. Chef 's Choice was about 4-5 times higher, we had to leave the room when it was warm, and it weighed more than the Breville. The Breville is very fast, a pot full of heat about 3 minutes! The handle is much easier to handle and you can still use both hands if necessary. Rthe footprint on the counter is smaller, and it just looks and feels better than those manufactured Chef 's Choice. GH recommend it for anyone who wants quality. RI want to update my review in a few months if a problem occurs.

After a few months, this water heater just stopped working. The teapot doesn 't make good contact with the base. It 's incredibly poor design. It 's so frustrating because the water heater itself is still perfect, the base, I ' m sure it is perfect, but I can 't get it to work. I 've tried cleaning the contact and rubbing with an eraser. By type of marginal help for a couple of times (ranging in and out), but then stopped altogether. I called the company, but they said they should have sent in the warranty card, now I can 't prove that "I have had for less than a year. I liked the convenience, and I think it ' s probably the most energy efficient to boil water, so you 'll look for another water heater with a different design. I ' m very frustrated that I just throw this away.

I am looking for a kettle to heat up quickly, outlast its predecessors and looks cool on the counter. This is it. It 's good, uncomplicated and very easy. The style itself is simple with additional fun of a blue light indicates kettle is at work. The automatic shutoff has an audible click and beautiful sound of kettle doesn 't overheat. Bréville thought of everything. It 's first kettle I ve ' you loved.

I bought a plastic for a cheaper price, but rteturn cuz the odor after the water boiled. R ri did a search on the choice of a large kettle and my dream finally chose the latter and found it 's fantastic! R RSO to produce hot water for coffee and tea ..... odorless plastic. R ri 'll take with me, even for a short trip. R racceptable price when I bought it. R rCaution: really hot when I could cover from one end to the outer fabric to protect you.

This kettle has been great so far. I had another brand before and rusty in after he began using it. So far so good with this. It 's been 2 months and no sign of rust. Does its job and looks good too. Ronly thing that bothers me is that it boils hard for a little more than I usually like my tea to boil the water before it turns off automatically. I 'm usually in the kitchen anyway, so I just turn it off when it begins a gentle boil.

After researching electric kettles I decided to try the breville Ikon Electric Kettle dispite the few cons that other buyers reported. I don 't use the kettle every day but so far I have had absolutely no problems with it. I haven 't gotten a metallic taste or smell from the water, I didn ' t find that the kettle got dangerously hot after boiling water and I found the little ding after the waters ready to be perfectly audible. Overall I have been very pleased with this kettle!

Boil fast. Easy to pick up. Holds plenty of water. No complaints.

pro two months post-purchase: reliable, very large, easy to clean, no after taste or smells, no clear plastic contamination possibility from design, cool to the touch; rapidly boiling rcon two months post purchase: doubled barreled body makes it an unusually heavy kettle to take, doesn 't hold as much water as its size indicates before; water level display awkward position to see

This adds the least amount of water within a minute of the half, while the full amount will take approximately 7 minutes. The smooth "collateral " and automatic shutdown features are large, and extra pay for the stainless steel as opposed to plastic is worthwhile in any case. R RI will say that the instructions are not as great in answering questions like, should I empty the pot between uses or should I dry? I thought I could to wash it, but only say to wash instructions for cleaning with light cloth on the outside, and not sink. I think it makes sense given all the sensors, it just feels strange, a device that I have not and will not wash in innocence, although I think that boiling water causes the cleanliness of the question.

I wanted to write this review because I had read a few while trying to find the perfect kettle for my husband 's birthday. I was nervous about some of the reports of a bad smell. We have now had the kettle for a little over a month and it has been working great with no smell. My husband washed it right out of the box according to the directions in the manual and we have had no problems. R rFor anyone looking for a kettle, this is a great option. Water boil it quickly and quietly, the alarm to let you know that you boiled water is just loud enough but not obnoxious. The other feature we really like is the ability to put the kettle back onto the base in any position. I would definitely recommend this kettle.

I had two pots Breville. They both failed the same way. I know that many people are happy with the pots but most Breville Don 't realized after a year or two of constant use, the electrical contact between the base and the pot will soon dissipate. This means that the button does not light and the camera will not work. I called Breville and I discovered that this new unit has the same mechanism of electrical contact. If you plan on using this for over a year or two, I might consider another brand.

I recently bought a Breville Ikon SK500XL Stainless Steel Electric Kettle for my office so we will be able to have hot water. Kettle takes about 3 to 4 minutes to heat up a pan full of water. It is easy to use, you simply press a button to start the heating process, and when boiling close automatically from the heating mechanism. It is not designed to store warm water after boiling. I like the electric kettle as a solid and easy to use. The reason I did not give 5 stars because the boiler is very hot right after boiling, so you have to be careful where you put the kettle on, and so not far from the children.

I have had this hot water maker for a year and this morning I saw the item was burned out. Last night I smelled a burning smell and saw the can was hot even though I had not used it for a couple of days (it was plugged in). I unplugged it and kept it unplugged until I went to use it today and saw it wasn 't working. Now I will have to buy a new can but this time I will buy a different brand. This can is too expensive to need replacement every year more and worry about the fire hazard. I suggest others with this brand only plug it in before use. I kept mine plugged in, but even so, THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM.

First the illuminated display started blinking. Next, I have to twist the cauldron to make the basis of connection for the kettle to start working. Finally, I noticed the smell of electrical burning and found that the base connector is melting! All within 3 months of purchase! This is our 2nd Breville. The 1st take a year before the impact. I think the design of the database is flawed. The size of electrical contacts is too small for current requirements for components the size of heat. I 'm going to go back to different stove top and avoid giving more non-biodegradable landfill for the animals.

I did a lot of research before buying this tea kettle, as I knew that if there were any hint of a plastic taste to the hot water it makes I could not deal with it. I love loose tea, and this kettle Heats the water quickly (and with no distinctive taste). The kettle also has a solid feel, never tips over, yet is not too heavy. It 's also very attractive sitting on my counter. I am very happy with this purchase.

Used for two years. It became useless because the metal flexible connection point between the boiler and loosen the body and became the basis no longer conduct electricity to the boiler. Contact Customer Service. Simply said it was out of warranty. However, it is sitting on the kitchen counter as a decorative element.

This was a replacement for another kettle, which lasted 3 months. She survived her first three months and still boil the water - an essential requirement. RPros: r Clean lines r-Easy fill top r-Pours well r-Boils fast r rCons: r-on / switch located under the handle r-hidden under the water column handle r-out is extremely hot when the water is boiled r rit seems that no one really looked at the usability of the project after the designers have been made. The water meter is normally hidden from view and they have not heard of insulation, because the outside will burn when the water 's hot. R the mouse it still works for now ....
